Common questions

BP Capture doesn't read my monitor
  1. Wait until your monitor has finished and shows the final numbers. BP Capture won't fill in the fields while the monitor is still measuring.
  2. Tap Activate Camera and fit the monitor's display inside the dashed box.
  3. Hold your iPhone steady and avoid glare on the display. Tilting the iPhone slightly can help.
  4. BP Capture fills in the numbers once two reads agree. You can also tap Capture to read the display once.

You can always type the numbers yourself.

Which iPhones does BP Capture work on?

BP Capture needs iOS 27 or later on an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max or a later model. To check your iOS version, go to Settings, then General, then About.

It says reading my monitor needs Apple Intelligence

Reading the display uses Apple Intelligence, which needs iOS 27 and iPhone 15 Pro or later. Make sure Apple Intelligence is turned on in Settings. If it was just turned on, it may still be downloading; try again later.

While it's unavailable, you can type the numbers from your monitor instead.

My reading won't save to Apple Health

BP Capture needs permission to save blood pressure. In the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps, then BP Capture, and turn on blood pressure. The Permissions tab in BP Capture shows what's allowed.

My pulse wasn't saved

The pulse is saved to Apple Health as heart rate. If heart rate access is off, BP Capture saves your blood pressure without the pulse and tells you. To turn it on, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps, then BP Capture, and turn on heart rate.

How do I delete a reading?

In History, swipe left on a reading BP Capture saved and tap Delete. This deletes it from Apple Health, along with its pulse. Readings from other apps can only be deleted in the Health app.

Does deleting the app delete my readings?

No. Your readings stay in Apple Health until you delete them there.

The camera doesn't turn on

Check that BP Capture is allowed to use the camera: in Settings, tap Apps, then BP Capture, and turn on Camera. Then tap Activate Camera again.

How do I share my readings with my doctor?

Open Report, choose 7 or 30 days, and tap Create PDF. Then choose how to share it, for example Mail, Messages or AirDrop.

Which monitors does BP Capture work with?

BP Capture is designed for home blood pressure monitors with a digital display that shows systolic, diastolic and pulse as numbers. Always check the numbers against your monitor before saving.

Is BP Capture a medical device?

No. BP Capture reads the numbers your own monitor shows. It doesn't measure, diagnose or interpret blood pressure. Talk to your doctor before making any decisions about your health.
