Who we are
This policy covers the BP Capture app for iPhone and this website. If you have a question about it, email bpcapture@aisomorphic.com.
What we collect
Nothing. BP Capture doesn't send any data to us or to anyone else. There's no account to create, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code, and no code from other companies. The app makes no network connections.
The camera
- The camera only turns on when you tap Activate Camera, and it turns off once a reading is captured. It also turns off when you leave the Capture screen or the app.
- While it's on, BP Capture uses Apple Intelligence on your iPhone to read the numbers on your monitor's display. The pictures are processed on your iPhone only.
- Camera pictures are never saved, either in the app or in your photo library, and never sent anywhere.
Apple Health
With your permission, BP Capture uses Apple Health (HealthKit) for these types of data:
- Systolic and diastolic blood pressure. BP Capture saves the readings you confirm, and reads blood pressure readings to show History and Report.
- Heart rate. BP Capture saves the pulse from readings you confirm, and reads it to include in Report.
BP Capture saves a reading only when you tap Log to Apple Health. It never saves a number you haven't seen and confirmed.
Your health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never used to build a profile of you, and never shared with anyone. BP Capture doesn't store health data in iCloud or anywhere else itself. If you've turned on Health in iCloud, Apple Health syncs your data according to your own settings.
Reports and sharing
The PDF report is made on your iPhone. It only leaves your iPhone if you share it, and it goes only where you choose, for example by Mail or AirDrop. What happens to it after that depends on who you share it with.
How long data is kept
- BP Capture doesn't keep its own copy of your readings. They're stored in Apple Health.
- Readings stay in Apple Health until you delete them. You can delete a reading BP Capture saved by swiping left on it in History. You can delete any reading in the Health app.
- Deleting BP Capture doesn't delete your readings from Apple Health.
- The PDF report is a temporary file, which iOS removes.
Your choices
- Apple Health access: in the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps, then BP Capture, and turn each type of data on or off.
- Camera access: in Settings, tap Apps, then BP Capture, and turn Camera on or off. Without it you can still type your readings.
- Apple Intelligence: it's controlled in Settings. Without it you can still type your readings.
Third parties
BP Capture doesn't share data with any third party, and it includes no third-party code. Apple Health and Apple Intelligence are part of iOS, and Apple's own privacy policy covers them.
Children
BP Capture isn't directed at children, and it doesn't collect personal data from anyone.
Not a medical device
BP Capture is not a medical device. It reads the numbers your own monitor shows and doesn't measure, diagnose or interpret blood pressure. Talk to your doctor before making any decisions about your health.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking, and it loads nothing from other websites. The company that hosts it may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run and protect the service.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
